Three Shortlisted for Young Sports Personality Prize

English soccer star Michelle Agyemang, darts player Luke Littler and cricketer Davina Perrin have been named as finalists for the upcoming Young Sports Personality of the Year award.
These three athletes have been recognised for their remarkable achievements over the past 12 months.
Agyemang played a key role in helping the Lionesses claim victory in Euro 2025, Littler claimed the world title for the maiden time, and Perrin burst onto the scene with a historic innings.
Littler claimed this honour in 2024 after his sensational debut year.
The finalists were announced live on a national radio breakfast show.
The champion will be announced during a live broadcast on the annual sports awards show on December 18th.
The ceremony will be aired from seven in the evening GMT.
Agyemang's Profile
Age: 19 Sport: Football
A mere three months after her first cap for her country, Agyemang played a dramatic and decisive role in England's run to European Championship victory.
She entered the fray to score vital last-gasp goals in both the last eight and last four matches.
Agyemang's stunning interventions led to her being named the best young player at the Euros.
Subsequently, she was awarded the Golden Girl trophy for the best young player in Europe.
She was also nominated for the Kopa Trophy for the planet's top young female footballer.
Agyemang, who has been playing for Brighton on loan from Arsenal, sustained a serious knee injury in October.
"To be named a finalist for this award is incredible," said Agyemang. "I thank God and I'm grateful for the support I've received from my family, coaches, team-mates and fans."
The Darts Prodigy

Littler kicked off the year in spectacular fashion as - at just 17 years old - he became the youngest darts world champion in history.
He secured a comprehensive triumph over Michael van Gerwen in the final.
His subsequent victory at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth player to complete the prestigious triple crown of major titles.
His success continued - his victory at November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he reached world number one for the very first time.
At 18, he is the earliest achiever to do so, breaking the previous record.
"Being nominated for the honour once more is a big honour," stated Littler. "Winning last year was a special memory for me and I've had another incredible 12 months. I want to continue raising the profile of darts."
Davina Perrin
Age: 19 Sport: Cricket
Perrin is one of English cricket's top prospects and burst into the spotlight with an remarkable and historic innings in August.
Her brilliant 42-ball century in The Hundred is the fastest by an English woman in T20s.
It also stands as the joint third-fastest women's T20 century in a major league or full member T20 international.
Perrin ended up as runner-up in the batting rankings and was named the young player of the year by the PCA.
"I'm truly honoured to be shortlisted for the Young Sports Star award," expressed Perrin. "This is phenomenal. I hope it motivates more young women to get into cricket."
