Soccer Analyst Sutton Takes On Artist Olly Murs in Premier League Forecasts

Arsenal's 10-game winning run came to an end by Sunderland prior to the international break, however will the Premier League frontrunners recover against local foes Tottenham this weekend?

"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," remarked football expert Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still find a way to win."

The analyst is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this term, against artificial intelligence, readers and a range of guests.

For week 12, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.

The singer's new record, Knees Up, is available on the weekend.

Soccer and Parenting Life

Murs is a skilled soccer player as well as a accomplished artist and has been a featured player of multiple charity football games down the years - but he is not planning a serious comeback as a player.

"{I recently played in a benefit game the other evening for a friend of mine," he said. "My side was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!

"I still love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it properly again.

"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my child or son chooses to play instead."

Murs and his wife Amelia Tank have two children, their daughter and their son, and he is ready to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their coach.

"I will not force football on our kids but I've previously told Amelia that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be coaching their Saturday football side," he added.

"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously owned a soccer team for a period too.

"My dad did it with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I get it from. He managed our team for two or three years and had great fun with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Premier League Forecasts

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues may have to wait a bit longer for their star's comeback from injury but their attack is now more potent with Joao Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.

I still think this fixture will be quite tight, though. Burnley are disciplined and their only at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.

This suggests a 1-1 tie to me, but I am in fact going to go with the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.

The expert's prediction: 1-2

Olly's pick: The Blues will be superior. 1-3

AI's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have been defeated in their previous couple matches - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which shocked me.

In contrast, the Hammers won back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those games were at their stadium, they do look strong again.

The Hammers' only away victory this campaign came at Forest in the summer, when their manager Nuno was previously that team's manager.

Therefore, what on earth do I predict here - can the Hammers continuing their streak under Nuno, or the home side responding?

I will choose Bournemouth, because I think what occurred against Aston Villa was a anomaly.

Sutton's prediction: 2-0

Olly's outlook: The home team are doing well but West Ham have improved under their boss. 2-2

The algorithm's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were considered one of the frontrunners for the drop before the campaign started, but they have impressed a several people under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three in their last four matches.

A family member told me to select Brentford striker Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer team a few weeks back and, guess what, I ignored the advice.

Thiago will likely score again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or back Brentford at Amex Stadium.

The Bees have not had much fortune on the travel this term, and Brighton are always strong at home. Brentford will attempt to hit them on the counter-attack but I think the home manager's side carry much more of a danger.

The analyst's forecast: 2-1

The singer's prediction: It could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a many goals but it in reality turns out to be quite close. 1-1

AI's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a huge game for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their past six matches.

Fulham have got plenty of quality in their squad but it still feels like they could be dragged into a relegation fight.

Regarding the Black Cats, indeed they are the unexpected success of the top flight campaign so far.

The away side's display in the two-all tie with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We have not witnessed any other team disrupt the Gunners like that this season, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.

The sensible thing would be to support the visitors here, because they are clearly capable of disrupting Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they beat the Blues at the end of October.

But I am not do that. Rather, I really need to carry on opposing the away team with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of credit for their good results because they evidently enjoy to prove me wrong.

Considering Fulham's at Craven Cottage form, the only side they have lost to is Arsenal. Their manager's side will be absolutely eager for a positive outcome, so I am going to predict they will pick up three points.

Sutton's prediction: 1-0

The guest's prediction: I know Sunderland are performing strongly and additionally that Fulham are on a poor streak... but they have nonetheless been decent at home this season. 2-0

AI's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a hard one to call. Liverpool have suffered seven of their last ten games in all competitions, but could they be one of the sides who profit from the {international break|
